This accessibility consultation services continuing education program will introduce the practitioner to the parameters of Americans with Disabilities Act legislation and its practical application for advocacy and independent living services to enable people with disabilities to integrate into home, work, school and community environments. The client-centered approach, based on the independent living model, provides a framework for developing these important services and for understanding the role of the healthcare practitioner in supporting the client’s goals.
