Objectives:
The goal of this continuing education module is to familiarize occupational therapists and physical therapists with knowledge regarding the identification, assessment, treatment and multiple interdisciplinary care modalities of patients diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome Type 1, formerly known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to:
- Identify diagnostic criteria for CRPS
- Plan and implement care priorities and interventions for a patient with CRPS
- Discuss ways in which healthcare professionals can improve the quality of life for patients with CRPS
