Job Duties:

Under the supervision of the Medical Director, provide occupational therapy evalution, treatment and consultation for young children (ages 0-5 years) with a variety of developmental disabilities in an early intervention setting. Provide classroom, small group and individual treatment. Weekly supervision will be provided by the educational director. Is responsible for selection, ordering, fitting, maintenance and proper use of therapeutic equipment for class and individual children. Develop and implement UCLA Program Reviews and/or IFSP in coordination with professional staff. Provide formal and informal consultation and training of staff, parents, students, residents, outside agencies and visitors. Incumbent will independently prioritize and perform duties with approval of supervising educational and medical directors of the UCLA Intervention Program. The educational director will review work and assign new projects in weekly meetings. Established evaluation, planning and treatment procedures shall be followed.
 
Job Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited university Occupational Therapy program. Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. California State license and National Board of OT certified and Feeding Certificate. Knowledge of normal child development. Experience (3-5 years preferred) in working with population consisting of infants and young children birth to 5 years of age. Specific knowledge and expertise with oral motor/sensory feeding issues. Knowledge of available equipment, sources for and maintenance of such equipment. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate therapeutic handling techniques. Ability to lift and handle children up to 50 lbs. Skill in communicating objectives of therapeutic programs for classroom personnel, families, students, and other professionals (e.g., CCS, Regional centers, private therapists). Ability to work as a member of a transdisciplinary team of professionals in medical/educational settings. Demonstrated skill in supervision of personnel, including hiring, training, motivating, evaluating and disciplining. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately to parents/caretakers and outside agencies (written and oral)
