Instructor, Occupational Therapy

Full-time, 180-day contract position with direct responsibility to teach core Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) courses and/or OTA courses that are open to pre-OTA students. Must maintain regular office hours, provide student advising in OTA and pre-OTA students; participate in curricular assessment and development; participate in program development; assist in program assessment, and assist in accreditation projects. Prepare and deliver evidence-based, high-quality day, evening, weekend, satellite and/or online courses. Traditional and online course development and facilitation; academic advising; research and development of potential certificate and program offerings; participation in student learning outcome assessment; and other duties as assigned by the department. Involvement in the area of professional development and scholarship, professional involvement, and services to the college and community is expected. Must assist with the recruitment of potential OTA students and be willing to assume leadership of the Student Occupational Therapy Assistant (SOTA) Club.

Minimum of an associate's degree in occupational therapy assistant AND a bachelor's degree in a related field OR a minimum of a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy. Completion of a master's degree in occupational therapy or a related field is strongly preferred.

Must be an Occupational Therapist or an Occupational Therapy Assistant currently licensed in the state of Ohio.

The applicant must emit enthusiasm for occupational therapy and have demonstrated excellence in her/his area of practice. She/he will serve as a professional role model to students, consistently holding them to high standards when assessing both technical and soft skills. She/he must be committed to academic rigor which reflects evidence-based practice. As a team member, the applicant must be willing to generously contribute both time and energy to support student success. Additionally, the candidate must be proficient with Word and Excel, and effectively utilize technical communications and resources. Knowledge of Blackboard is a plus.
