Low vision may be better than total blindness, but to those afflicted it’s hardly an affirming comparison. Yes, they can see to a certain degree, but their visual impairment is usually so severe that it has a negative impact on almost every aspect of their daily lives. The result: frustration, anxiety and social isolation.
